2025 Vintage Update
Vintage Update | Tokar Estate's Senior Winemaker, Chloe Earl
The 2025 vintage at Tokar Estate has been one of our earliest on record, with a hot and dry lead-up and below-average rainfall pushing the vines along at pace. This saw us kick off harvest almost three weeks ahead of the long-term average—our earliest start in close to 15 years.
We picked the first of our Pinot Noir on February 11, followed swiftly by Chardonnay the next day. While yields are slightly below average, the fruit has come in with fantastic quality—showing bright varietal character, excellent natural acidity, and, for the reds, great tannin structure as they ferment.
With Tempranillo, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon ripening rapidly, we anticipate all remaining fruit will be in the winery within the next couple of weeks. It’s been an early and compact vintage, but one that’s shaping up to deliver wines of exceptional quality.
We can’t wait to see how these wines evolve!
